Habiba Sayedzada, 64, of Columbus died from head and chest injuries when the southbound 2005 Chevrolet Suburban ran into the median and the driver overcorrected, causing the SUV to overturn twice near the Hamilton Road exit.
The driver, 16-year-old Sabrina Sayedzada of Columbus, fell asleep at the wheel, said state trooper Sgt. Maurice Raines. She was in stable condition Friday night in the intensive-care unit of Atlanta Medical Center.
Her parents, Sam and Mashid Sayedzada of Columbus, were both in unsatisfactory condition in the intensive-care unit of Columbus Medical Center.
Their 10-year-old son was treated at West Georgia Medical Center and released.
