SUWANEE - The Troup American 9-10-year-old all-stars have no margin for error now.
After falling to Perry 12-8 Friday night in the opening game of the Dixie Youth Baseball state-championship series, Troup will need to win two straight games today to claim the title.
The first game is set for 10 a.m., with another game, if needed, to follow.
“It was a battle,” Troup coach Perry Prather said. “We just had a rough first inning where we gave upfour runs due to errors, and you just can’t do that and win.”
“We battled back. It was those errors. They just killed us. We made a lot of good plays, but with those errors.”
Troup was led on offense by Daniel Swann, who went 3-3 with two singles and three RBIs.
Seth Prather was also 3-3 with a double and an RBI.
Luke Hilderbrand also went 3-3 with two singles.
Matthew Freeman added an RBI.
Jarred Helton and Luke Hilderbrand worked on the mound for Troup
“We are going to come back strong (today),” Prather said. “I really think that we will take this to a third game
