I’ve lived just off Mooty Bridge Road for the past 16 years, and my family and I have driven through the roulette wheel known as Ware’s Cross Road daily for that entire time.
I’ve witnessed numerous serious accidents. I have neighbors who have been seriously injured even to the point of being wheelchair-bound for the rest of their lives because of this dangerous intersection.
Having been in public safety in this county most of my life, I do not know of any location past or present in greater need of some type of more advanced traffic control. There have been two serious accidents at Ware’s Cross Road in the past week alone.
I would ask anyone having a concern about this hazard to contact state Rep. Randy Nix or DOT director Vance Smith and voice your fear and concern. These gentlemen can get the ball rolling with the Department of Transportation to find a solution to this dangerous hazard in our county.
