Daniel Lee Allen, 31, formerly of Troup County, was taken into custody without incident about 1:25 p.m. Tuesday in the waiting area of Brooklyn Medical Center’s emergency room in New York City.
Allen initially identified himself as “Rondell Quick,” an alias he had used previously while being interviewed about a shooting in New York City. Police detectives are now looking at Allen as the possible triggerman in that shooting, pending a review of video surveillance footage.
Once the results come back from Allen’s fingerprints and a positive ID has been made, the Troup County Sheriff’s Department will be notified.
Allen was among five persons indicted in Troup County in March on murder and kidnapping charges. The other suspects are Sade Catori Davidson, 24, of Shoemaker Road, Toray Dontez Porter, 23, of West Point, Kelly Lavar Stephens, 31, of West Point and Arthur Demartino Barrett, 21, of West Point.
Prosecutors said the suspects kidnapped Louder, 26, during an alleged drug transaction Jan. 2 on Simmons Street in LaGrange, then took him to his home in Greenville where a TV and other items were stolen. He was shot eight times and his body found in the back seat of his car the next morning on Smokey Road in Troup County, his hands tied behind his back.
