Principal Anne Cook asked the teachers at Ethel Kight Magnet School to describe the first day of school in six words. Here are their responses:

Great start to a new year!

There’s no place like Ethel’s House!

Very good, productive, and great kids.

Could not have been any better!

Longer than ever, but so rewarding!

It was exciting, rewarding, and exhausting!

Totally awesome – I love this school!

Making new friends, exciting, fun, exhausting!

All in all, a great start.

Got all twenty students home safely.

I have how many more students??

I need more coffee and sleep.

Fantastic start to a new year.

Super day! Car-rider duty too hot.

The first-graders at EKMS rock!

Great day … NEVER BEEN THAT TIRED!

My third grade students are awesome!

My “next-to-the-last” first day of school.

Wonderful day – the children were great!

Beautiful voices, excited children, not boring. (Music teacher)

Thankful and honored to be here.

I know why God made Fridays.

Registration day … no need … come any time!

It’s wonderful to be back home (at EKMS).

Awesome day … long day … Lucas here! (the child of the teacher)

The best is yet to come.
