Keep Troup Beautiful and Habitat for Humanity ReStore officials are inviting all businesses and households to get involved with America Recycles Day on Thursday from 9 a.m. 4 p.m.

The event will feature a drive-through drop off featuring secure on-site document paper shredding through A Cut Above Shredding, recycling of scrap metal, aluminum beverage cans and household items. Drop off items to be recycled include boxes of paper documents for on-site shredding, aluminum beverage cans, scrap metal, old appliances, furniture, gym equipment, working televisions, artwork, building supplies, cabinets and other household items.

Drive-through drop off is 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the parking lot adjacent to the Keep Troup Beautiful office and Habitat ReStore at 333 Main St. Thanks to the sponsorship of Charter Bank and Pratt Industries. South 106.1 radio will be providing a remote broadcast and Home Source Realty will be providing a barbecue over the lunch hour.

Since 1997, communities across the country have come together in November to celebrate America Recycles Day. It is one day to educate and motivate. One day to get our neighbors, friends and community leaders excited about what can be accomplished when we all work together. One day to make recycling bigger and better 365 days a year.
