Mr. O. C. (Bob) Williams, 89, of Grantville, died Monday, Nov. 12, 2012, at Piedmont Newnan Hospital.

Mr. Williams was born Jan. 23, 1923, in Blackburn, Arkansas, son of the late Alfred and Minerva Redfern Williams. A resident of Meriwether County since 1957, he was a former mayor of Lone Oak, was a member of the Baptist church, and retired as a freight agent from the Atlanta and West Point Railroad after 30 years of service. He was an Army veteran of World War Two and had remained active in the 104th Infantry Timberwolves Association.

Survivors include his daughter and son in-law, Ann and Neal Edwards of Port Orange, FL, son, Ed Williams of Lawrenceville; sister, Lee Parker of Lone Star, TX; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Grace Johnson Williams.

A graveside service will be at 4:00 p.m. Thursday in the Williams Family Cemetery at Grantville, with Rev. Emmett Clark officiating.

The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 tonight at Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home.
