The Choral Society of West Georgia is gearing up for its seventh annual concert of Thanksgiving and Praise.

The event is set for 5:30 p.m. Sunday in the sanctuary of First Presbyterian Church in LaGrange, said Bettie Biggs, artistic director and conductor.

First Presbyterian Church organist, David Kocsis, will be the featured soloist for the concert which will feature selected reflections on American life and the meaning of Thanksgiving. The Choral Society accompanist is Cindy Brown.

“We are excited that the event has grown so in popularity that we are now into our seventh season,” said Biggs.

“Sunday‘s concert begins at 5:30 in the evening, right around dusk, when the lighting begins to change and the sanctuary is visually transformed. That combined with the music makes for a very unique experience, not only for the audience, but also for the singers,” Biggs said.

“Not all of our singers are from LaGrange,” said Biggs. “We have members from all over the region including Warm Springs, Gay, Woodland, Pine Mountain, West Point and Valley, Alabama. Their energy and enthusiasm for this concert is overwhelming.”
