Dear Editor,

Today I am sad like many other of my Republican Southern citizens! In the southern states we won every electoral vote, but it did not matter as the Democrats in the North and West won the presidential election, so hats off to President Barack Obama for the victory. I wonder how he feels that not one southern state, other than Florida, voted for him as a re-elected U.S. president.

After Mr. John Tures, associate professor of political science at LaGrange College, cautioned predicting the 2012 election, because it was so far away from the last general congressional election.

In 2010, Republicans won everywhere in state and the U.S. Congress. It was predicted by many in the party to expect 2012 to be another “really big” majority victory for Republicans in the U.S. House and Senate. The results were dismal as we lost two Senate seats and three seats in the House. As we ponder what happened in this election defeat. we along with Murdock, Rove, Palin, Bachmann and Glenn Beck feel kicked in the stomach and are looking for the answer to this serious problem. It is an absolute certainty that we Republicans talk too much, speak without thinking of consequences and, although we have gained the independent voters, we have lost the beloved Latinos. Why are we against helping immigrants to become citizens? Wow! Twenty million Americans hand-in-hand and we lost them. Talk about acting in a dismal manner, (act of projecting victory and instead enduring unbelievable, agonizing failure)!

I really don’t think those who re-elected Obama and those who voted in Democrats to the U.S. Congress really understand Obamacare, as it will affect Medicare genning Jan. 1. That is the date when the increase amount paid under Medicare will expire. Under Obamacare, $50 billion will be removed from Medicare every year for seven years. Hospitals, doctorsand pharmacies are not going to willingly participate. Some doctors may not accept Medicare at all! The AARP has lost millions of members for their support of Obamacare. Remember that under Obamacare, every state must set up their own “health care exchange.”Like we need spending more money on anything else as states are short of money. Maybe labor unions will donate money to finance their “candidate” programs.

Was it the Tea Party, loose talk, overzealous religious attitude, stance on abortion or are we unfairly seen as the “rich person party?”Perhaps we are some of all of these, but we are free at heart and business and want all Americans to have a part in the pursuit of happiness!Even in victory, President Obama’s popularity has waned as he proposes ridiculous tax increases to Sen. Mitch McConnell, R-Kentucky and House Majority Leader John Boehner! Wow, talk about a “lame duck” period ahead.Billions of dollars will not be invested in America and the decline in the stock market the day after the General Election shows “lack of investment” attitude. The Economy will not benefit from the 2012 election!
