Mrs. Mary Katherine “Peggy” Bailey, 84, of Winston-Salem, N.C., passed away Friday, Nov. 9, 2012, at Wake Forest Baptist Health Center. Mary was born on April 22, 1928, in Troup County to Robert Andrew Longshore Sr. and Florence Noles Longshore. She was a member of Crews United Methodist Church in Winston-Salem. Mary worked in many different fields during her career and held many jobs, but her most improtant job was being a homemaker for her family.

Preceding Mrs. Bailey in death were her husband, Thomas Eugene Bailey; her parents, and one brother, Jimmy Longshore.

Surviving Mrs. Bailey are two daughters, Doreen Bailey Connell (Tom) of Raeford, N.C., and Karon Bailey Money (Keith) of Walnut Cove, N.C.; one son, Steven Eugene Bailey (Libby) of Chattanooga, TN; three grandchildren, Steven Bailey and Andy Bailey, both of Chattanooga, TN, and Beth Little (Will) of Morgantown, WV; two brothers, Robert Longshore of Hogansville and Joel Longshore of Brunswick; two sisters, Martha Woodham and Gerry Yarbrough, both of LaGrange; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral service was conducted 1 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 12, at Crews United Methodist Church with the Rev. Gary Camp officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery. The family received friends from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 11, at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel.
