Clarence Gilbert passed away Wednesday, November 14, 2012 at Emory University Hospital, Atlanta, GA.

Mr. Gilbert was born March 19, 1933 in Troup County, Georgia to the late Virgil and Henrietta Gilbert, Sr.

At an early age, he united with Thankful Baptist Church and served until he relocated to Detroit, Michigan.

He attended school in Troup County and was a Veteran of the United States Army; he was employed by Chrysler Motor Company, Detroit, MI.

Survivors include 4 children: Candance (Kenneth) Ford, LaGrange; Marsha Gilbert, Dothan, AL; Randall (Janet) Gilbert, Woodbridge, VA; and George (Leisa) Gilbert, LaGrange, GA; 8 grandchidlren, 3 great grandchildren; a special cousin, Lonnie Hill, Jr. and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

The Funeral Service will be held on Monday, November 19, 2012 at 3:00 at Thankful Baptist Church with Rev. Anthony Hixson officiating. Burial will follow at Shadowlawn Cemetery.

The family will be at the home of his daughter and son-in-law, Candance and Kenneth Ford at 190 East Mt. Zion Church Road.
