Ms. Dorthy Peterson of 908 Greenville Street passed away Monday.

Ms. Peterson, a native of LaGrange, was born August 14, 1927 and was the daughter of the late George Louis and Ida Broome Peterson. She was a childcare worker and cook. She joined the New Mount Olive Knotts Baptist Church early in her life.

Memories will be cherished by a loving and devoted daughter, Gwinuette Young, LaGrange; two grandchildren: Ellis Gates Jr. (Terri), LaGrange; Montoya Young (Christine), LaGrange; two great-grandchildren: Tidaysha and Tiana Gates, LaGrange; one brother, George W. Peterson, Seattle, WA; one sister, Vivian Peterson, LaGrange; adopted children: Myrtis Carr, Tiffaney Fannin, Sharon Fannin, Pamela Brooks, Lasonjie Bell, all of LaGrange; Chanden Cleveland, West Point; many nieces, nephews, other family and friends.

The funeral service will be Sunday, December 2, 2012 at 2:00PM at the New Mount Olive Knotts Baptist Church. Rev. Rufus Smith will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
