Downtown LaGrange Development Authority hosts Candlelight Holiday Shopping from 5 to 9 p.m. with downtown shops open late.
A concert to benefit Toys for Tots, Tunes for Tots, is 6 p.m. at Legends Tavern inside Best Western Lafayette Garden Inn at 1513 Lafayette Parkway. Hired Guns, The Smokey Road Band, Lights Out, Dead River Hollow Sky and Into the Further will perform. Admission is $10 or an unwrapped, unopened toy.
Petit Ballet presents “The Nutcracker” at 6:30 p.m. at West Point Elementary School. Entrance is free.

Lafayette Society for Performing Arts presents “The Nutcracker” at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. Saturday, and 2 p.m. Sunday at the Troup High School Fine Arts Center. Reserved seat tickets are $20 for adults, $10 for students, and general admission tickets are $15 for adults and $8 for students. The LaGrange College annual Service of Lessons and Carols is 7:30 p.m. in Callaway Auditorium, featuring Bible readings and music about the Nativity. The LaGrange College Singers and orchestra will provide the music. The event is free.

LaGrange College hosts Christmas on the Hill 2012 at 6 p.m. with games, crafts, Christmas Karaoke, holiday treats, warm beverage and s’mores on the LaGrange College Plaza and patio. The Christmas on the Hill tree lightening ceremony is 6:30 p.m. A professional photographer will be on hand from 6 to 8 p.m. to take pictures of attendees in Santa’s sled, with Santa and Santa’s reindeer. Although not mandatory, a donation of $5 is suggested from someone who wishes to have a picture.
