Mrs. Joyce Mae Smallwood McCurry, age 72, of LaGrange, died on her birthday, December 8, 2012 at the LaGrange Hospice.

She was born in 1940 in Troup County to the late Henry Grady and Thelma Manning Smallwood. In addition to caring for her family, Mrs. McCurry retired from the Medical Records Department of West Georgia Health Center and was a member of the Franklin Road Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband, Ernest McCurry of LaGrange; sons, Lee Hodnett and his wife Jeana of Newnan and Tim Hodnett and his companion Kathy of LaGrange; brothers, Billy Smallwood and his wife Melba, Ray Smallwood and Richard Smallwood and his wife Marie; sisters, Betty Broome and her husband Bob and Faye Buffington; grandchildren, Travis Hodnett and Dustin Hobnett; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Funeral service for Mrs. Joyce McCurry will be held on Tuesday, December 11, 2012 at 1:00 pm at the Higgins LaGrange Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. Andy Buchanan and Rev. Frank Sledge officiating. Interment will follow the service at the Restlawn Memory Gardens.

Family will receive friends on Monday evening from 6-8 pm at the funeral home.
