Mr. Hollis Q. Martin, 72, of LaGrange passed away Sunday, December 9, 2012 at Hospice LaGrange.

Mr. Martin was born February 8, 1940 in Randolph Co., Alabama, son of the late Henry and Avie Martin. He worked as a manufacturer for International Playtex and was a bus driver for Troup Co. School System. He was a member and former deacon of Oakside Baptist Church, he loved camping, fishing, hunting, and was a member of the Troup County Sportsman Club.

Survivors include his wife Faye Martin of LaGrange, two daughters and sons-in-law, Sandra and Brian Overton of Knoxville, TN; Kim and John Kleber of LaVergne, TN; a son and daughter-in-law, Clifford and Carrie Estes of Ashland, AL; daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Kenny Henson of Taylorsville, GA; three stepchildren and spouses, Andy and Robin Pijnenburg, Pam and Jimmy Bradley, and Tommy and Jessica Pijnenburg, all of LaGrange; five grandchildren, Elizabeth, Andrew, Hannah, Isaac, and Quinton; three step-grandchildren, Brandon, Ginger, and Gavin; six step-great-grandchildren, Trenton, Alexandria, Parker, Aubrie, Colt, and Lily; brothers and sisters-in-law, Carles and Shirley Martin, Rodney and Debra Martin, and a sister Bernice Martin, all of LaGrange. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Violet O’Neal Martin, and his three brothers, Edward Martin, Olin Martin, and Harlen Martin, and a sister, Dura Walters.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 Wednesday at the Oakside Baptist Church with Rev. S.T. Janney and Rev. Jimmy Pruitt officiating. Interment will be at Shadowlawn Cemetery. The family will be at his home and will receive friends at Hunter-Allen-Myhand funeral home Tuesday evening from 7:00 until 9:00. Flowers will be accepted or contributions may be made in memory of Mr. Martin to WOAK Radio Station.
