The LaGrange Lady Grangers took care of business Saturday afternoon to keep their perfect season alive.

Facing a strong Hiram squad, LaGrange walked away with a 60-46 victory to improve to 7-0.

Point guard Brittany Tatum had her usually strong game with 19 points, and Breanna Grant chipped in with 18 points and KaBrenna Smith scored 11 points.

LaGrange was clinging to a 12-10 lead after the first quarter, and that lead grew to 24-18 at the half.

The Lady Grangers were up 43-30 through three periods, and after going up by 16 in the fourth quarter, the lead shrunk to eight before they pulled away.

“We were up by 16, and we need to do a better job of taking care of the ball,” LaGrange head coach Jan Jones said. “We have to work on that. But we did a better job with our press today.”

LaGrange will host Callaway on Tuesday before taking a few weeks off before the start of Region 5-AAAA play on Jan. 4.

“We need to keep getting better,” Jones said. “It’s going to be so tough when we get into our region.”
