Ajalon Arthur “Happy” Tillery died in Belleview, FL, on Christmas Eve., 12-24-12.

He was born July 1, 1931 in LaGrange, GA to William Henry “Bill” and Thelma Sanders Tillery, now deceased. Also deceased, a son, Ajalon “Aja” Tillery of Winston-Salem, NC, and a brother, William Hayward “Buddy” Tillery of Carlsbad, NM. He was a 1952 graduate of Auburn University in textile engineering. He served two years as a Captain in the Air Force in Germany. Among other companies, he worked with Callaway Mills and Milliken.

Ajalon was a dedicated Christian, a Baptist, and truly brightened the lives of many of us who will miss his presence. Among those include his dear wife, Leone Finch Tillery of Belleview; a son, Andrew Tillery of Reidsville; a grandson, J.A. “Jim” (Shawna) and great granddaughter, Caroline Faye Tillery of Greensboro, NC; a great friend and brother, Dr. Don E. (Sarah Ellen) Tillery of Eustis, FL; sisters, Betty Tillery, Auburn, AL; Shirley (Dr. Richard Reese), Americus, GA; and Doyce T. (Al) Amos of Winston-Salem; and numerous nephews, nieces and friends.
