After a big home win over Fayette County on Friday, LaGrange traveled to Fairburn a day later and claimed another region victory.
With three games remaining, the Grangers (16-6 overall) improved to 7-4 in Region 5-AAAA.
LaGrange heads into the final week two games behind first-place Shaw in the region standings, and one game behind Alexander and Fayette County for second place.
Against Sandy Creek, Kwame Brown led the way with 18 points, Baron Smith added 13 points, and Justyn Olson scored 10.
The Grangers were up 16-10 after the first period, 25-21 at the half, and 38-32 through three periods.
In Saturday’s girls’ game, the Lady Grangers were also coming off a huge win over Fayette County, but they were unable to keep that momentum going against Sandy Creek.
The Lady Grangers were within eight heading into the final quarter, but Sandy Creek dominated the action over the final eight minutes to win 56-35.
Brittany Tatum led LaGrange with 13 points, and KaBrenna scored eight.
LaGrange (17-5 overall) fell to 7-4 in the region with three games remaining.
LaGrange’s teams will host Troup on Tuesday.
