Mrs. Joyce Harris Smith, 84, of the Louise Community, died Friday, March 15, 2013, at Hospice LaGrange.

Mrs. Smith was born May 2, 1928, in Troup County, daughter of the late Dave Reid Woodruff and Mary Beth Sims Woodruff. She was a lifelong resident of Troup County, was a member of Living Waters Baptist Church, and retired from the Dunson Division of West Point Pepperell after 45 years of service.

Survivors include her sons and daughters in-law, Kenneth and Pat Harris of Columbus, Phillip Harris of Jacksonville, FL; daughter, Sandra Wynn of Newnan; sister, Betty Shepherd of LaGrange; three grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Aaron Harris and Arthur E. (Buddy) Smith; son, Aaron Lee Harris; grandson, Kenny Harris; and an infant grandson.

Funeral services will be 4:30 p.m., Sunday, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home. Rev. Tommy McLeroy and Rev. Mike Hornsby will officiate and interment will be in Shadowlawn Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2:30 p.m. until 4:30 p.m. Sunday, and will be at her home at 49 Yarbrough Dr. in the Louise Community.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Louise Baptist Church or to Hospice LaGrange Charitable Trust.
