Mr. Arthur Cato, of LaGrange passed away Sunday, September 9, 2012 at Emory University Hospital in Decatur.

Mr. Cato was a native of Meriwether County, born June 15, 1928 the son of Henry Ulys Cato and Maedelle Murphy Cato. He had owned and operated Cato’s Restaurant in Hogansville for 38 years.

Mr. Cato is survived by his wife of 59 years, Laura Yates Cato; daughters, Linda Cato Smith and Kimberly Williamson Brooks, all of LaGrange, and a son; Artie Cato Jr. of California, six grandchildren, John Redden, Judson Redden, Amber Smith Sheppard, Holly Cato Sorenson, Arthur Cato and Andrew Cato, and 12 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sisters and four brothers.

Funeral services will be 2:00 Thursday at Hunter-Allen-Myhand Chapel with Bro. Scotty Sheppard officiating. Interment will follow in Restlawn Memory Garden. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday from 6 until 8.
