Mrs. Marie Hester, 70, of Franklin passed away Saturday, November 10, 2012, at West Georgia Medical Center.

Mrs. Hester was born January 3, 1942 in Savannah, daughter of the late Clarence Grady and Marian Agnes Burke Sherrod. She was a homemaker and had worked for International Platex. Mrs. Hester was a graduate of Groves High School in Savannah. She loved caring for her family and gardening.

Survivors include her husband, Billy Hester of Franklin, son, Edward Lynn Sherrod of LaGrange, daughters and sons-in-law, Denise and Lee Bryan of LaGrange, and Lisa Hester Sweet and Brian Sweet of Lake Charles, LA; grandsons, Dustin Michael Keegan and Caden Michael Sweet; great-grandson, Alec Michael Keegan, and eleven nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a brother, Clarence Glenn Sherrod.

Funeral services will be at 4:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Hunter-Allen-Myhand Chapel with Rev. Jimmy McMillian officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday from 2:00 until 4:00 before the service.
