Mr. James Robert Nix, 77, of LaGrange, passed away Monday morning at LaGrange Nursing and Rehab.

Mr. Nix was born May 30, 1935 in Thomaston, Georgia, son of the late C.L. and Lishie Lillian Parmer Nix. He was a retired corrections officer with the Troup County Corrections Department.

Survivors include his wife, Janis Nix of LaGrange; sons and daughter-in-law, Steven Dale Nix of LaGrange, Robert Lee and Melissa Nix of FL, daughter and son-in-law, Brandi Michell Nix Pittman and Christopher Pittman, stepson and stepdaughter-in-law, Gabe and Stephanie Garner all of LaGrange; grandchildren, Robert Bishop, Amy Snowberger, Natasha Flake, Jonathan Rogers, Stephanie Nix, Nicholas Nix, Kimberly Nix, Cassie Garner, Georgia Garner, Ashley Garner, Justin Garner, Alexis Garner, Cody Garner, Anna Garner, Trinity Bush, Kaydian Bush, Cassandra Pittman and Sophia Pittman and several great-grandchildren, and a sister, Reba Gloria Bonner of Wetumpka, AL.

The family will receive friends at Hunter-Allen-Myhand Funeral Home Wednesday afternoon from 4:00 until 6:00.
