Mrs. Faye Linda Shears of 1009 Avenue K in West Point passed away Thursday at West Georgia Health.

Mrs. Shears, a native of West Point, was born March 10, 1945, and was the daughter of the late Jeanette Huguley and Tommy Lee Thomas. She was a faithful member of the Bethlehem Baptist Church in West Point where she served in the following auxiliaries: The Kitchen Club, Mission in Action, The Gospel Choir and the The Voices.

She leaves to cherish her memories, her husband of 48 years, Roosevelt Shears, West Point; sons: Randall (Lisa) Shears, West Point; Donta (Angela) Shears, Valley, AL; one brother, Phillip Huguley; three grandchildren: Akayesha Shears, Opelika, AL; Arandall Shears, Gainesville, FL; Adonta Shears, Valley, AL; two great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, other relatives, special friends and her Avenue K Family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Josephine Boyd; and a brother, Joseph Wright.

The Celebration of Life Service will be Friday, December 28, 2012, at 1:00PM at the Bethlehem Baptist Church, East 10th Street, West Point. Dr. W. T. Edmondson will officiate. Burial will be in the Eastview Cemetery.
