Mr. William Carey Cook, 72, of Franklin, GA, died Monday, March 18, 2013, at his home.
Mr. Cook was born February 2, 1941, in Franklin, GA, son of the late Byron Cook and Pauline Futral Cook. He was employed with The Mill Store for 20 years and later with Richardson Floor Covering before retiring. Mr. Cook was a former member of Oakside Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Mozelle Jewell, Leanette Wiley, and Mary Ellen Miller, and one brother, Wayne Cook.
Survivors include his wife, Thelma Cook of Franklin, GA; two sons, Greg Cook of Newnan, GA and Jeff Cook of Franklin, GA; five granddaughters, Kayla Cook of Statesboro, GA, Macie Cook of Newnan, GA, Amber Cook of Iowa, Sarah Cook of Newnan, GA, and Sabrina Cook of Newnan; one grandson, Sean Cook of Newnan, GA; one sister, Emmie Lou Hodges of Poplar Creek, LaGrange, GA; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Thursday, March 21, 2013, at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary Chapel with Reverend Darrell Scott officiating. Entombment will follow in Restlawn Memory Gardens. The gathering of family and friends will be this evening from 6:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
