Mom alleges adult sold gun to her kids

Detectives with the LaGrange Police Department are investigating a report that an adult may have sold a gun to two teenagers.

A woman contacted police after receiving information her teenagers were in possession of a gun, according to police Lt. Dale Strickland. She told officers when she confronted her children, they said an adult sold them the weapon.

Strickland said no known crimes have been committed using the gun, but the weapon is currently missing.

Investigators are conducting interviews with the mom and children.

Strickland said in Georgia it is a felony to sell a weapon to a minor under the age of 18.

Domestic disturbance ends in DUI arrest

LaGrange police responded to a home in the 100 block of Carver Street early Friday morning in reference to a domestic disturbance. When an officer arrived they were directed to a Nissan Pathfinder with a broken tail light that was leaving the scene.

Officers conducted a traffic stop, and said they smelled an odor of alcohol coming from the car. The driver allegedly failed a field sobriety test and blew a 0.211 during a check for his blood alcohol content. The legal limit in Georgia 0.08 BAC. The man was arrested and charged with DUI less safe, driving unlicensed, no valid insurance, suspended registration and improper brake lights.

Identity alleged stolen to buy prescription pills

A woman told police Friday that she thinks someone is using her identity to fill her prescriptions for Alprazolam (Xanax) at the Walgreens on Vernon Street.

According to the report, the victim said it happened twice on two different dates. Police said video surveillance from Walgreens showed a woman, who was not the complainant, fill prescriptions on two different occasions. Police are still investigating.

Entering auto

A woman told LaGrange police someone entered her vehicle around 10 a.m. Friday morning while she was inside the LaGrange Memorial Library. The car was parked on Alford Street. According to the victim, her wallet containing a drivers license, three social security cards plus $200 in cash was taken from her car. Police believe someone entered the car through the drivers side door which was unlocked.
