Victims: Car struck by bullets

Two people told LaGrange police Tuesday their car had been shot in LaGrange while they were driving.

Police spoke with the man and woman while they were patrolling an area near Daniel and Brown streets.The couple told police the incident happened around 10:30 p.m. in the 600 block of Snelson Street.

The victims said their vehicle had been struck multiple times by an unknown person.

Officers were unable to locate any suspects. The incident is under investigation.

Traffic stop and foot chase lead to drug arrest

LaGrange police officers were conducting a safety checkpoint on New Franklin Road at Bacon Street around 2 a.m. Tuesday morning when they noticed a car abruptly turn around and proceed back towards Commerce Avenue.

Officers said they followed the car with their blue lights flashing, but the driver refused to pull over and starting traveling fast.

According to the report, the car stopped on an access road near the Auto Zone on New Franklin Road and the driver and a passenger jumped out and ran away on foot. After a brief chase, both men were apprehended.

Officers and K9 “Dax” found a handgun and a FedEx bag that contained a large amount of suspected marijuana.

The driver was charged with driving on a suspended or revoked license. Both men are charged with two counts of obstruction of an officer and fleeing to elude an officer.

Entering Autos:

A man reported on Tuesday someone broke into his car at the Holiday Inn at 205 Cotton Dr. and stole a Hantac meter worth $750.

• A man told told Tuesday he found his neighbor’s car had been broken into in the 300 block of Old Morgan Street. When officers arrived, the found $50 in one-dollar bills lying on the ground, along with CDs and a checkbook. The owner of the car was not located.

Couple claims AC unit stolen

A couple told police Tuesday that someone stole their new Haier air conditioning window unit from their mobile home in the 100 block of Colonial Street sometime Monday night. The unit was valued at $120.
