Report: Burglars steal TVs, appliances

A homeowner told police late Monday night someone entered his home in the 100 block of Cato Street while he was out of town.

The victim said he noticed his front bedroom window had been pushed in and his front door was also unlocked.

According to the report, the items stolen included a TV, a Panasonic TV/VCR combo, Whirlpool refrigerator, stove, washing machine and a dryer. The estimated value is $505.

Police are still investigating.

Woman claims boyfriend stole her money

A woman told LPD officers her boyfriend took her car without her permission early Monday morning and almost $475 inside the vehicle at the time. She told police he returned the car, but not the money. Officers were investigating.

Gun found near maintenance building

An employee from a lawn care service found an automatic pistol lying in the bushes near an event center in the 200 block of Chatham Street on Monday afternoon. The facilities director called police, who then took possession of the weapon and ammunition.
