Day campers at the First United Methodist Church in LaGrange created a lemonade stand Friday on Broad Street to raise money for war-wounded veterans. The campers, ranging in grades from kindergarten to fifth grade, all voted from a list of nominated charities to donate the stand’s proceeds to wounded veterans. In about two hours, the youngsters raised $605 to donate. The charity lemonade stand is a yearly project of the FUMC’s day camp, with last year’s money being donated to the Humane Society.
