Officials with Georgia State Patrol said a Newnan man faces charges after allegedly leaving the scene of an accident on Interstate 85 about 3:30 p.m. Wednesday.

GSP officials believe Brian Wallace, 50, was northbound in a 2013 Toyota Camry when it drifted into the lane of a northbound 1998 Toyota Camry driven by Shanteria Glanton, 19, of Hogansville.

Officials said the two cars never touched each other, but Glanton lost control of her car when the other vehicle entered her lane and she hit a concrete culvert. The vehicle overturned and landed upside down near mile marker 9.

Glanton had a cut on her right hand and complained of an injury to her leg; the passenger in her car, Aaliyah Partridge, 21, of Greenville complained of an injury to her hand, reported state troopers who responded to the crash. Both women were taken to nearby hospitals for treatment.

Troopers said an eyewitness to the wreck told them the 2103 Camry didn’t stop after the incident.

State patrol officials identified Wallace as the suspected driver, but an official said this morning that he had declined to talk to troopers on the advice of his attorney.

Officials said Wallace has been cited for failure to maintain lane and leaving the scene of an accident.

Woman claims student stole debit card, fishing license

A woman told LaGrange police she noticed her debit card and fishing license were missing while leaving her son’s football practice Wednesday morning at Troup High School on Hamilton Road.

She eventually found her licence near the practice field. Another student reportedly told the victim that a male picked up a card from the ground where the fishing license was found.

The woman told officers she immediately canceled the debit card, but her bank told her someone unsuccessfully tried to use it at a Domino’s in Lanett, Alabama.

Police were investigating.

Vandals damage Callaway Stadium

An employee at Callaway Stadium called LaGrange Police Department officers on Wednesday after noticing vandals smashed two windows on each of the ticket booths, causing an estimated $500 damage. Nothing was reported stolen.

Woman claims someone egged car

A woman reported Wednesday afternoon that vandals threw multiple eggs on her maroon 2015 Kia Sorento overnight while it was under her carport in the 1600 block of Vernon Road. She was unsure at the time of the report if the yolks caused any damage to the paint on the vehicle.
