LaGrange police are investigating two cases of motorcycle theft from Monday.

Officers responded to a home in the 400 block of Lincoln Street about 6 p.m Monday after the resident reported his Harley-Davidson motorcycle stolen. The owner of the Harley said the bike was there when he left for work about 5 that morning, but was gone when he returned.

The owner’s wife was home all day and said she never heard the engine, leading officers to believe someone must have walked into the yard and pushed the motorcycle away. The owner valued the motorcycle at $16,700.

In another incident, LaGrange police officers responded about 4:30 p.m Monday to a manufacturing plant in the 1000 block of Redding Drive.

The victim said he drove his black 2007 Honda Spirit VT750 to work that morning. His co-workers told police they saw the motorcycle in the parking lot about noon. When the victim went to leave work about 4 p.m., he said the bike was gone, but he still had the key in his pocket.

The owner valued the motorcycle at $4,200.

Shoplifting

• Walmart managers called LaGrange police after reviewing video and noticing a man and a woman stole two crossbows out of the sporting goods section about 3:30 a.m. Sunday. The couple, who also had a child with them, hid the bows in boxes on the bottom of their shopping cart, then walked out. The items were valued at $800.

• LaGrange police responded to Home Depot off Davis Road and Lafayette Parkway about 3 p.m. Monday after store managers said a person was pushing a cart full of merchandise out of the store without paying. Items included an 18-volt Makita impact driver, 18-volt Makita multitool, 18-volt Makita planer kit and a Ryobi belt/disk sander with a total value of $556. The shoplifting suspect was arrested on charges of shoplifting and transported to the Troup County Jail.
