A West Point 18-and-under all-star team that includes former Troup Tiger Parker Pearson saw its season come to a close in the Big League Southeast Regional over the weekend in Fort Lauderdale.

West Point, which won a state championship to reach the Southeast Regional, fell to Florida 13-3 and Tennessee 6-2.

Pearson, a senior on last season’s Troup team, played a key role in West Point’s championship-winning performance in the state tournament.

In an 8-3 victory over East Marietta, Pearson was the winning pitcher, and he drove in a run with a sacrifice fly in a 10-6 loss to East Marietta.

In a third and deciding game between West Point and East Marietta, Pearson had two hits, two RBIs and a run scored in an 8-0 win that wrapped up the state championship.
