NEWNAN — West Georgia Technical College on July 23 held a pinning ceremony for 2015 practical nursing program graduates in Coweta County at Charles Wadsworth Auditorium in downtown Newnan.

The practical nursing program at WGTC is taught on three campuses: the Murphy campus in Waco, the Coweta campus in Newnan and the LaGrange campus in LaGrange.

The three campuses together totaled 39 graduates who received their pins on Thursday.

Featured graduate speakers from each campus were Kimberly Veon of the LaGrange campus, Taylor O’Barr of the Murphy campus and Kimberly Moore of the Coweta campus.

Merry Heath, director of inpatient services at Piedmont Newnan Hospital, delivered commencement remarks.

“On behalf of everyone at West Georgia Technical College, congratulations to the 2015 graduating class of the WGTC practical nursing program,” West Georgia Technical College President Steve Daniel said. “The demand for qualified and highly skilled graduates in the healthcare industry is strong, especially in our service area. I salute our students and faculty who put in long hours over the course of the entire program, and wish our graduates the best of luck in their future endeavors.”
