A father spoke with LaGrange Police Department officers after learning his 12-year-old daughter was sexually active with a 20-year-old man, according to a police report.

LPD Lt. Dale Stickland said the girl also said the sexual relationship between her and the suspect was consensual. Police were attempting to locate the suspect to interview him, Strickland said this morning.

The case was turned over to the Criminal Investigation Section of LPD.

Stickland said because of the age difference, the suspect could face felony charges in the case.

Bad checks

Two checks written as a down payment for a new car appear to be worthless, and the owner of the vehicle is now nowhere to be found.

The manager of Mike Patton Chrysler told LPD officers that a customer purchased a 2015 Dodge Ram in May and provided two checks as part of the down payment. The man told the manager the checks were written from his wife’s account and had her name and signature on them. Neither check has gone through and attempts to contact the customer for full payment failed as well, according to the police report.

The checks were for a total $3,500.

Youths throw rock at car

A loud noise startled a passing motorist as a rock hit the side of her GMC Yukon on Monday evening while she was driving on Waverly Way near Winzor Avenue.

The driver stopped and later told police after she heard the noise, she saw two juveniles running from the area.

LPD officers did find a small chip in the right side middle window of the victim’s vehicle.

Police were investigating.
