LaGRANGE — Harriet Langford, foundation trustee and daughter of the late Ray C. Anderson, has been elected to serve on the board of directors for the Troup County Center for Strategic Planning, Inc.

The Center for Strategic Planning is an independent 501c3 nonprofit corporation, located at the Troup County Government Center, organized to carry out initiatives set forth in Troup County’s Strategic Plan.

“We are very excited to have Harriet on our Board,” said Kathryn Tilley, executive director of the Center. “The Foundation is a significant player in the County’s strategic growth and Harriet’s insight will be valuable as we continue to move forward.”

Since the dedication of the Ray C. Anderson Memorial Highway in 2014, Langford has been working with the Georgia Conservancy, Georgia Tech’s School of Architecture, Interface, Kia Motors Manufacturing Georgia, the Georgia Department of Economic Development and the Georgia Department of Transportation, as well as the cities of LaGrange and West Point to create direction for the Mission Zero Corridor.

The Mission Zero Corridor is a 16-mile stretch of Interstate 85 in Troup County proposed to use advances in innovation and technology with a commitment to make it the safest, cleanest, most sustainable stretch of highway in the world.
