LaGRANGE — One man was in stable condition this weekend after being shot in the chest outside the Good Times bar at 1014 Hogansville Road.

LaGrange police said they received a call around 3 a.m. Saturday to respond to the bar for a fight in progress.

LaGrange Police Department Sgt. William Nelson said officers had just pulled into the parking lot and gotten out of their vehicles when they heard a single gun shot.

According to the officers, there was a large crowd and people started running from the scene. Nelson said the officers did not see who fired the gun.

Nelson stated an officer located a 30-year-old LaGrange man who had been shot in the chest by an unknown black male while standing in the parking lot of the club.

The victim was flown to Columbus Medical Center for treatment and was in stable condition as of Saturday evening, Nelson said.

Investigators were trying to contact any witnesses who were outside the bar early Saturday morning to help them identify the shooter. Nelson said this morning they were still developing leads in the case.
