A man claims he woke up to some unwanted guests inside his house, who rummaged through a bedroom and then stole an air mattress.

The man told LaGrange police officers he was woken up inside his apartment in the 900 block of Mooty Bridge Road around 2 a.m. today by someone knocking on his front door. The victim said then two unknown, white, heavyset females and an unknown, white, short male entered his room and started asking about someone.

The man stated he did not recognize the name the suspects were asking about, but he believed they were referring to his brother.

According to the victim, the suspects then said his brother owed them money and they started rummaging through another bedroom.

He told police as the trio were leaving the apartment, the two females picked up an air mattress and walked out the door with it. The victim also stated the male suspect was on the phone with someone and said he was going to send his “Bloods people,” then gave the address of the apartment to the person on the line.

The LaGrange Police Department Criminal Investigation Section is now handling the case.

Man allegedly steals truck

An elderly woman frustrated with her boyfriend told him to pack his things and go, which he did, but not before allegedly stealing her truck.

The woman told officers she let him borrow the Ford F-150, but when he returned Thursday night with it, she said he became argumentative and was threatening others at the home in the 600 block of Arthur Street. That is when the victim asked the man to leave the residence.

She said he did and walked to the rear of the house. The elderly woman told police that is when she saw the truck suddenly back out of the year. She said she yelled at him to stop, but the man kept going.

The victim believes her boyfriend may be in Columbus.

Police are investigating.

Suspected TV motel thief

One woman may be trying to pull a fast one by allegedly using different identities and stealing flat-screen TVs out of motels.

The manager of the Red Roof Inn off Lafayette Parkway told LPD officers Thursday morning that a woman who rented out a room the night before may have stolen a 39-inch Insignia flat-screen TV worth $300. Staff reported it missing after the guests checked out.

According to the manager, the phone number left on the woman’s registration card belonged to her mother. The mom informed him one of her daughters stole her other daughter’s driver’s license and was using it to rent motel rooms. She said a similar incident took place at a Hogansville motel on Wednesday.

LPD confirmed the same woman, using the same driver’s license, rented a hotel room in Hogansville, where a 42-inch Insignia brand TV went missing as well.

LPD and the Hogansville Police Department were investigating the thefts.
