Mount Gilead Baptist Church, 119 Cedar St. in LaGrange, celebrates a pre-anniversary for Rev. Alford Booker at 6 p.m. with “Voices from the Pulpit in Concert” featuring local and surrounding area pastors, preachers, ministers and evangelists lifting their voices in song.

Saturday

Events: Market on Main is in the parking lot at East Depot and Main streets, next to Carmike Cinemas LaGrange 10, from 8 to 10 a.m. Local growers and vendors offer produce, plants, various food and handmade items for sale.

Meetings: Self Help Harbor, 909 Stonewall St., hosts AA meetings at 8 a.m., 10:30 a.m. for women, 1 p.m. and 7 p.m.

Events: The Emmaus Shelter hosts its fourth annual Miss Emma’s Ice Cream Crankin’ fundraiser at 2 p.m. on Lafayette Square in downtown LaGrange. To sample ice cream, a family pass is $15 and individual pass is $5. Train rides, hot dogs and popcorn on tap for kids along with Miss Beauty and Mister Cutey Contest for up to 16 years old dressed in their “Sunday best.” Entry for the contest is $15 or 3 gallons of ice cream. Meetings: Burks Chapel United Methodist Church on Burks Chapel Road hosts an Old Time Spiritual Singing at 5 p.m.

Stoval Baptist Church, 14 Hardy St. in Greenville, hosts a Fifth Sunday Night Singing at 6 p.m. Guest singers are Power LDR. Fellowship meal follows.

Churches: Callaway Baptist Church hosts discipleship training, youth and children’s classes at 5 p.m.

Uplifting Your Faith Ministries, 104 Youngs Mill Road, hosts spiritual counseling/healing at 5 p.m. with Bishop R.L. Darden.

Monday

Events: A beginner scrapbook class is offered at the Active Life Center on Ragland Street at 11 a.m. There is no cost for the class. A registration form and supply list can be picked up at the center.

Legacy Museum on Main hosts West Point Lake at 40 Years, a collaboration with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and the Chattahoochee Riverkeeper through Sept. 10, exploring the history of the lake and its impact on life in the county. Legacy Museum on Main, 136 Main St., is open 9 a.m.–5 p.m. Monday to Friday and 10 a.m.–4 p.m. Saturday. 706-884-1828

LaGrange Art Museum, 112 Lafayette Parkway, hosts the Celebrate Summer art show featuring the work of artists in the Visual Artists Alliance of LaGrange and local artist Sarah Swanson through Sept. 26. Also on display will be painted violins and cellos that were beyond repair from years of use and will be auctioned Sept. 17 to raise money for the LaGrange Symphony Orchestra Guild’s youth programs. The museum is open 9 a.m.–5 p.m. Tuesday to Friday and 11 a.m.–5 p.m. Saturday. 706-882-3267
