LaGRANGE — A 49-year-old Meriwether County man remains behind bars in the Troup County Jail after being accused of raping and molesting a 15-year-old girl.

The Troup County Sheriff’s Office said Alexis Dwayne Owens was arrested by the Meriwether County Sheriff’s Office on Friday.

Owens is accused of raping and molesting the teen in Troup County this past June.

TCSO said he is charged with two counts of rape, two counts of child molestation and two counts of enticing a child for indecent purposes.
