Man allegedly slaps woman, threatens son

A man hoping to date a former colleague did not win her over when he allegedly slapped her in the back of the head and threatened her son with a knife.
The woman called police after the suspect left her home at Lee’s Crossing Apartments at 119 Old Airport Road just after 5:30 p.m. Monday.
She told the responding officer the man was waiting for her and her son in the parking lot of the complex when they returned home from work and school. According to the victim, the man was upset because she “friended” another man on Facebook and proceeded to call her vulgar names.
The woman said she was sitting on the steps when the man came up behind her and she felt a large impact on the back of her head.
Her teenage son, who witnessed the attack, said he followed the man to his truck to confront him. The teen told officers that is when the man allegedly pulled out a hunting knife and threatened to cut him.
The man then left the scene.
Police were investigating the incident.
Vandal puts salt water in BMW gas tank
A woman called LPD officers Monday around 5:15 p.m. at Fryer’s Tire on New Franklin Road after she learned her son’s vehicle, a 2006 BMW 750i, was damaged after someone placed water and salt in the gas tank.
The woman told police an employee at the auto shop contacted her after he siphoned the water and salt out of the tank.
According to the report, the officer said the bottle of gas retrieved from the tank of the BMW was severely discolored and smelled like salt water.
The damage to the car is estimated at more than $500.
Landlord claims tenants wrecked apartment
An altercation between two tenants could land them in hot water with their landlord.
The woman told police on Monday that two tenants who reside in an apartment she rents in the 100 block of Alford Street got into a fight Aug. 3.
The landlord said when she went into the apartment she found paper plates left in the oven with the oven still on, a shirt in the sink covered with oil, as if to flood the home, and holes in the walls.
The woman said she wanted the damage documented.
