North Georgia author and LaGrange College graduate Chris Rumble will be the first author in the Friends of the Library Author Talk series.

The event is set for 6:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Fackler Room at LaGrange Memorial Library.

Rumble is a motivational speaker in schools throughout the state, using his talents as author, musician, visual artist and comic to encourage children and young teens to use their imaginations through the written word and mural paintings, according to a press release from the Friends of the Library.

He is in the author and illustrator of “Adventures of Uncle Stinky,” a series of three books published by Random House Kids, and has created a graphic novel, “Jack Crackbone: Nightmare of a Bully,” and a chapter book, “My Dad Is Coming To Career Day (But Hopefully the Earth Will Be Destroyed By Angry, Big Haired, Brain-Eating Zombie Vampire Aliens Before Then).”

His presentation will be aimed at readers of all ages.

The Author Talk series is free and open to the public.
