LaGRANGE — A woman was flown to a Columbus hospital on Tuesday after her car flipped shortly after noon near the 900 block of Youngs Mill Road.

A witness called 911 at 12:16 p.m. Tuesday to report the wreck. Preliminary information gathered at the scene showed the woman, identified as Chelsea Franks, 21, of LaGrange, was eastbound in a 2006 Chevrolet Cobalt when she entered a sharp curve and lost control of her vehicle, said LaGrange Police Officer Wesley Engle.

The car crossed over the oncoming lane and off the far side of the road, where it ran over a mailbox and hit an embankment that flipped the car, Engle said. It landed on its roof in the oncoming lane.

Franks suffered possible facial injuries, Engle said, and was taken by EMS to be flown to Columbus for treatment and further evaluation. Her condition was unavailable this morning.

LaGrange police were still investigating.
