The Lafayette Christian School Cougars finally met their match.

After three one-sided wins to begin the season, the Cougars were in Douglasville on Friday for a matchup of unbeaten teams.

Trailing by nine points at the half, the Cougars got within two in the third quarter, but Harvester Christian Academy scored the game’s final 14 points to capture a 26-10 victory.

While Lafayette Christian fell to 3-1, Harvester improved to 3-0.

Lafayette Christian will look to get back on track when it hosts Praise Christian Academy on Friday.

In the Harvester game, the Cougars struck first, with Morgan Channell’s 20-yard field goal giving his team a 3-0 lead.

By the half, Harvester was on top 12-3.

The Cougars got a Jemi Reed touchdown run and a Channell extra point in the third quarter to make it a 12-10 game, but that’s as close as they came.

“We just made mistakes, turned the ball over three times, and just did not play physical, did not play clean, and that was the result,” Lafayette Christian head coach Nate Shaw said.
