LaGRANGE — The LaGrange-Troup County Chamber of Commerce is joining with Google to host the Let’s Put Our Cities on the Map workshop during the Resource Troup Expo to help small businesses succeed on the web.

Let’s Put Our Cities on the Map is part of Google’s Get Your Business Online program and aims to bring community members, business owners and civic leaders together to help small businesses succeed on the web.

During the expo, participating business leaders will be allowed to see whether their business is located on the Internet and create, add or update their business information shown through Google searches with Google My Business.

“It’s estimated that more than 95 percent of Americans look online for where to shop for goods and services, but less than half can be found on the Internet,” chamber President Page Estes said. “With Google’s help, we can put LaGrange on the virtual map and make sure all of our local businesses can be properly located online.”

A booth will be set up at the expo with computers to allow participants to begin the process of getting located online. Giveaway items and additional information will be available.

The Resource Troup Expo is 5:30 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at West Georgia Technical College’s Callaway Conference Center at 220 Fort Drive. Anyone seeking more information may call the chamber at 706-884-8671.
