LaGRANGE — LaGrange Art Museum hopes to kick off the best Halloween party ever with the Monster Mash — a graveyard smash to benefit the museum.

On Oct. 24 from 7 p.m. to the bewitching hour, the ghouls will be coming from miles around for the benefit. The Monster Mash will be hosted in an abandoned Victorian mansion — the former In Clover restaurant at 205 Broad St.

The event will feature a host of creepy cocktails at Dr. Frankenstein’s “Dry Ice Lab,” dancing to the spine-chilling Halloween sounds of “monster music,” Ms. Sonia the Palm Reader and food by Jeffrey Tucker “fit for a zombie feast,” states an LAM press release.

Attendees also should “scare up a fright” with costumes, officials noted. Awards will be given for scariest, most original, most outrageous and silliest costumes.

The event committee consisting of art museum board members and volunteers Al Brannon, Connie Boccucci, Nanci Lechacz, Mary Higgins, Marlene Rhodes and Jackie Terrail have left no gravestone unturned as they have come up with a host of ideas to make this party a success. Props, special light effects and hauntings will be staged by members of the art museum staff.

This event is hosted with the help of contributions from Dr. and Mrs. Michael Lock, Service Master, Lynn Morgan, Patrick and Jackie Terrail and Dr. George and Nanci Lechacz.

Tickets are required for this gated event, no walk ups allowed, at $75 per person and are available by calling the art museum at 706-882-3267.
