Church hosts Breast Cancer Awareness Walk

Confidence Missionary Baptist Church hosts the inaugural 5K Breast Cancer Awareness Walk at Calumet Park on Union Street from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday. Registration is $10 for the walk and includes a water bottle, and $20 adds a T-shirt. Merry Market to raise funds for School Readiness Program

United Way of West Georgia hosts the fifth annual Merry Market Weekend Shopping Extravaganza from 9 a.m.–7 p.m. Oct. 23 and 9 a.m.–5 p.m. Oct. 24, with a preview party and silent auction 5–8 p.m. Oct. 22., at the Callaway Conference Center on Fort Drive. Cost for a one-day ticket is $5 for Oct. 23 or 24, and $30 for the preview party and full weekend. The market features area vendors selling wares with proceeds to benefit the School Readiness Program.
