Are you a misogynist?

If you are confused with what a misogynist is, it means a person who distrusts or hates women. Are you fed up with women’s rights groups? Do you long for the “Leave it to Beaver” days when the kids and wife made a man feel like a king in his household?

Thinking about going through a dreaded divorce, but feel that the judge will demand that you pay your wife a lot of alimony? Do you feel that the courts in the United States favor women in custody matters?

If so, you may want to consider moving to a country where Islam is practiced. Before you do, however, make sure you know about something called Sharia. Of all legal systems in the world today, Islam’s Sharia law is the most intrusive and strict, especially against women. Under Sharia, Islamic code and law, getting rid of your wife is as simple as declaring to her three times — in the presence of witnesses, preferably — “I divorce thee.”

Are you jealous? In Islam, under Sharia, women must wear a thick but loose-fitting dress with headgear so that her face would never be seen by a potential admirer. In fact, Sharia is a chauvinist’s dream.

A Muslim woman, by some, is considered no better than a piece of property whose owner, under law, can govern their every movement. Because men and women may not mix on public transportation, most bus drivers in countries like Nigeria — where Sharia is enforced — when given the opportunity refuse to transport women, leaving them stranded at bus stops.

In Saudi Arabia, Sharia is very much alive and very hazardous, and even deadly to criminals convicted under the codes. Find yourself before a Sharia court accused and ultimately convicted of a crime, such as stealing, and you can literally lose one of your hands for the offense. But that is not all. You could be given several hundred, or more than a 1,000 serious lashes by a Sharia appointed officer who will disperse his lashes to you while holding his personal copy of the Holy Koran in the other hand.

Do not even think about murdering someone in a country that embraces Sharia law. If you must, however, please understand, it is not like America. Justice is typically very swift and you are likely to lose your head. In fact, according to Sharia, the following are a few of the tenets of the law:

• Theft is punishable by amputation of the right hand.

• Criticizing or denying any part of the Quran-death.

• Criticizing Muhammad-death.

• A man can marry an infant girl and consummate the marriage when she is 9 years old.

• A woman can only have one husband but a man can have up to four wives.

• A man can actually beat his wife for insubordination.

The list actually goes on and includes many other things that you can lose your life for under Sharia law, but not in a democratic country.

Sharia law and the Miss World Pageant of 2002

Remember the controversy surrounding the 2002 pageant? In 2002 the Miss World Pageant was scheduled to be held in Nigeria but was canceled due in part to fighting among religious factions in the country.

I reference the pageant because some participants refused to participate because a 30-year-old Nigerian woman had been given the death penalty under Sharia for allegedly confessing to having had a child while divorced. Under Sharia codes, pregnancy outside of marriage constitutes sufficient evidence for a woman to be convicted of adultery.

Sound ridiculous yet? The man named as the father of her baby girl reportedly denied having sex with her and his confession was enough for charges against him to be dropped!

The young lady sentenced to death and her lover exonerated infuriated human rights advocates around the world who protested successfully for her release. She had previously been scheduled to be buried up to her neck and stoned to death.

Around the same time of the Miss World Pageant in 2002, a very dangerous group influenced by Sharia law was taking root in Nigeria. It was Boko Haram.

Translated, Boko Haram typically means “Western education is forbidden.” Since 2002, the group has been responsible for more than 30,000 killings in West Africa, including the kidnapping of innocent children. They have also been known to take over entire villages in Nigeria, while killing the men and raping the women.

I do not know about you, but I am proud to be an American. Are you?

Our country is far removed from being perfect, but consider the crazy options.
