LaGRANGE — The LaGrange Symphony Youth Orchestra, LaGrange Symphony Youth Orchestra String Ensemble and new Strings Attached Ensemble will take to the Callaway Auditorium stage Monday at 7 p.m. for their 2015 Fall Concert.

The String Ensemble, under the direction of Callie Hammond and comprised of younger musicians, will perform “Andante” by John Cacavas and Pachelbel’s “Blackberry Canon.” They will be joined by the Strings Attached Ensemble as they play Beethoven’s “Ode to Joy.”

The Youth Orchestra, under the baton of conductor Celeste Myall, will perform selections that include Vivaldi’s “Concerto Ripieno,” Faure’s “Mandoline,” Rutter’s “Suite for Strings” and the “March from Love for Three Oranges” by Prokofiev.

The concert will end with all three groups playing a traditional “fiddle” tune as the Youth Orchestra and String Ensemble welcome the Strings Attached musicians to their musical family.

Appearing for the first time in an LSYO concert are students from the new Strings Attached program currently in the pilot stage at three Troup County elementary schools: Ethel Kight, Franklin Forest and Hollis Hand.

Tickets are $5 for adults and $2 for students 13 and older. Children 12 and younger are admitted free with an adult. Tickets will be available at the box office the evening of the concert.

This concert is sponsored by Kid’s Zone Dentistry, 307 Church St. in LaGrange.
