A LaGrange woman is still recovering from injuries she said she sustained during a robbery Monday night while walking down Alford Street near the library.

The victim managed to make it back to a house in the 100 block of Baugh Street where she called LaGrange police about 11:30 p.m., according to the report.

The woman told officers she was near the library when four unknown black males attacked her, stole $100 from her front pocket before taking off on foot.

According to the victim, during the struggle, one of the men bit her on the right bicep, struck her in the left side of her neck and above her left eye.

She told police one subject had on a red shirt, one wore a white shirt and two were wearing black shirts.

The victim then drove herself to West Georgia Medical Center for treatment, according to the police report.

Detectives are still investigating the incident.

Battery

A man told LaGrange police he was struck in the face with a radio by another man while they were both walking down Ridley Avenue about 6:30 p.m. Tuesday.

The victim told officers he had been in contact with the suspect, a man he only knows by the name of “Blunt,” throughout the day. He also said the man fled the scene after he hit him, running southbound on Ridley Avenue.

According to police, the victim sustained bloody abrasions, a contusion and a cut on his right eyelid.

Officers said he was transported to West Georgia Medical Center for treatment.

Police canvassed the area searching for the suspect, but did not locate him.

Entering autos

• A woman called police about 8:15 p.m. Monday to a home in the 500 block of Borton Street after noticing someone broke into her brother’s Ford F-150 truck. The woman told a LaGrange officer she noticed the passenger-side door and the driver’s side door were both unlocked, the radio was missing from the dash and several boxes had been rummaged through. According to the report, someone also stole the battery from underneath the hood of the truck.

• A woman told LaGrange police someone stole her cellphone from her 2002 Saturn Vue while she was inside her doctor’s office in the 600 block of South Greenwood Street on Tuesday between 10 and 11 a.m. According to the woman, her doors were unlocked. The value of the cellphone was estimated at $109.

• Some LaGrange sanitation employees helped out a stranger who did not know her wallet had been stolen from her car. The employees found a white Michael Kors wallet with personal documents in it inside a trash can on Hearthstone Drive.

They called their supervisor, who contacted LaGrange police. Officers found the owner, who met them at headquarters and told police someone took the wallet from her SUV, parked in the 400 block of Town Center Drive.

The woman said the thief stole her ID, social security number, debit card and checkbooks.

Police find stolen car

A LaGrange officer on patrol Monday about 11:30 p.m. spotted a recently stolen Nissan Maxima sitting at the Griggs Recreation Center at 716 Glenn Robertson Drive.

He said the car was 30 feet off the road on a gravel driveway leading to the ball fields and was illuminated by the brake lights.

According to the officer, when he turned around to get a better look at the vehicle, it disappeared.

The officer said he located it further down the gravel driveway.

According to the report, no one was inside the car, but multiple items were scattered on the ground.

LaGrange police brought out a K9 unit, but were unable to locate any suspects.
