LaGRANGE — Earlier this week, Ethel W. Kight Elementary School teachers were recognized and rewarded by the Sam’s Club Teacher Rewards Program. Sam’s Club is a Partner in Education with Troup County School System.

Barbara Jeffreys, membership/marketing representative for Sam’s Club, arrived at the school with cake, gift cards and goodies. Twenty teachers each won a $50 gift card provided through the Walmart Foundation Community Grant Funds. The remaining teachers were each given a coffee mug full of goodies.

“Each year, the funds for these teacher rewards cards come from the Walmart Foundation and are in addition to the Community Grant funds,” Jeffreys said. “It’s our way to show appreciation to the teachers in our community who work with limited funds for those extra items needed in the classrooms.”
