LaGRANGE — At least one person was hurt in a two-car, head-on collision on West Point Road just before 5 p.m. Friday.

The crash happened less than a mile west of the intersection of Gabbettville and West Point roads where a black Dodge Caliber and a dark gray Toyota Sienna collided.

Sgt. Stewart Smith, public information officer with the Troup County Sheriff’s Office, said a female driver of one of the vehicles was airlifted to Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta.

The AirEvac helicopter met an ambulance crew at Long Cane Middle School to transport the victim.

Smith did not know the extent of the victim’s injuries.

As of press time Friday night, there was no further information on injuries to the other driver, or if there were any passengers in either vehicle.
